Alan Viader
At Intentus, named for the Latin word meaning "intention" and "purpose," owner and winemaker Alan Viader channels his deep-rooted passion for winemaking, cultivated through years of exposure to his family's VIADER vineyards on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. With over 20 years of experience crafting world-class wines at VIADER, Alan launched Intentus in 2018 to explore exciting new winegrowing regions and produce unique, limited-edition wines that reflect a strong sense of place and varietal purity, all while supporting hardworking small producers.
In addition to his winemaking, Alan is a dedicated First Responder, actively involved with the Napa County Sheriff's Search & Rescue team and serving as a volunteer firefighter. His experiences witnessing the devastation caused by natural disasters have inspired him to give back through Intentus, which prioritizes charitable initiatives that support communities in need and honor the courage of first responders.
