These values have illuminated their path to, and successes within, world-class resort hospitality. An industry where success is measured by the happiness and memories you inspire in others. With Trinitas Cellars, the second generation of the family hopes to inspire the same in wine enthusiasts. Our goal is to craft wine that’s so compellingly delicious, that the joy it brings creates a window in time where worries are melted away, virtues are celebrated, and life is savored.

Clif Family is more than just a winery — it’s a dedication to crafting delicious wine and food, a tribute to our farming roots, and a way to give back to our people, planet, and community.

Dr. Michael Casaban, Owner

III Rows. III friends. III children. III Louisiana residents. III oenophiles. III men with a vision to bring boutique Napa Valley wines to those they hold close and those they have yet to meet.

Stephen Bordes was born and raised in New Orleans. He attended both high school and college in the city, and New Orleans has remained central to the family’s story.

Their three children, now adults, attended elementary and part of high school in New Orleans before the family moved west for the remainder of their secondary education.

The family are first-generation farmers and winemakers operating a wine-grape vineyard in Sonoma, California, just minutes from Sonoma Square. The vineyard is sustainably farmed, and the tasting room is entirely off-grid—nestled among the vines—to create a unique, intimate setting. As a family-run winery, all family members are actively involved in daily ranch operations, hosting tastings and events together. The middle daughter helps run operations, and the youngest daughter is the winemaker.

Although they now split time between California and New Orleans during harvest season, New Orleans remains home—especially during the holidays and festival seasons.

We farm on two mountain estates—Diamond Mountain and Moon Mountain—where elevation, volcanic soils, and ocean air shape everything we do. We pick by taste (often in small passes), keep each lot on its own, and blend with a light hand so the vineyard leads. The result is a family of energetic, finely etched wines: black-fruited, age-worthy Cabernets (Voir Dire, Hawk’s Prey, Decree), a plush yet structured Merlot, a savory, spice-lit Syrah, and whites that reset expectations—crisp, mineral-driven Chardonnay and vibrant, layered Sauvignon Blanc. Winemaker Andy Jones leads the cellar with an uncompromising focus on precision and patience—wines built to be beautiful on release and even better with time.

Brown Estate launched its label in 1996 with the first Brown Zin and debuted its initial three vintages at the ZAP Grand Tasting in 2000, reaching its 25th vintage in August 2021. The brand grew steadily through word of mouth and social media, expanded accessibility by opening the Brown Downtown tasting room on Napa’s First Street in April 2017, and introduced the House of Brown sister label in 2018. They invite interested visitors to join their spam-free monthly mailing list and follow them on Instagram for updates.
