Winemaker's Dinner

Start your wine weekend with a Winemaker’s Dinner on Friday evening, where you'll be hosted at a private venue in Pointe Coupee Parish! Featured wine pairings will be offered with select menu items. You may visit our website for details on venues and chefs to choose from for the evening. Options to purchase wine from select wineries will be available that evening. Must be 21 to attend. In order to create a unique experience highlighting winemakers’ presentations and food pairings, a limited number of guests will be at each residence or restaurant. Only 250 tickets are available for the Winemaker's Private Dinner.
*Entrance for one to the wine event and Sparkling Wine Reception on Saturday is included in the $250 ticket price.

Wine Down on False River Grand Tasting
Saturday evening will feature a grand tasting of fine wines from Napa, California, as well as artwork, local cuisine, and live music. Guests can expect to explore Main Street while visiting boutiques, restaurants, and venues scattered among a quarter-mile stretch in downtown New Roads. Each location will feature artists and wineries from Napa Valley and each guest may receive a 2oz tasting of each wine offered. Options for ordering directly from vineyards will also be available. For attendees, a map will be provided with participating locations and information on participating artists, restaurants, and vineyards. Food will be available for purchase. Guests over 12 must purchase a ticket, 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. Limited tickets available. Complimentary wine glass with each ticket.

Wine Down on False River is hosted by Friends of Main St. and the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee. Proceeds will benefit a new program that allows business owners on Main St. to apply for grants of up to $10,000 for the purpose of improving the building's facade, minor structural improvements, or any qualifying project that enhances the aesthetics of Main St. These funds are then approved by the Friends of Main St. Board and Mayor of New Roads. In addition, the Arts Council of Pointe Coupee will receive 15% of net proceeds.

2024 Live Painting Artist
Nicole Cotten Callac
Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Nicole earned her BFA in Painting from LSU college of Art + Design. She has studied in NYC under Graham Nickson and studied painting and drawing in Hawaii. She teaches Advanced Placement art at The Dunham School full time. Nicole paints in an abstract expressionist style. She has recently been featured in inRegister as well as 225 Magazine.
Nicole will be painting a live piece at the Saturday evening event that will be available for auction the night of the event.
Three Blind Mice
Based in Louisiana, Peter Duffield is a professional musician who has dedicated his life’s works to music and performance. As the lead singer of the very popular Louisiana band 3 Blind Mice, he and his band mates Ken Herrington, Scott Randall, Matt Doran and Steve Smith have been perfecting their technical abilities and unique sounds over the years. Peter Duffield also performs as a solo artist. He and the Mice have mastered live shows and earned the respect of their peers. Peter also has some impressive studio recordings. He and the Mice have been captivating the hearts of fans and audience members across the Bayou State. Kirk Holder
Kirk Holder has been performing in the Baton Rouge, LA area for over 30 years. He currently lives in Gonzales, LA, a few miles south of Baton Rouge. He is best know for his solo acoustic performances. He covers a plethora of musical genres that span decades, with impeccable guitar and vocal work. Kirk recorded and released a CD entitled "The Last Blonde on Earth" in 2002. It is a soulful and eclectic collection of all original recordings of compositions from a span of many years.
